DEFENCE HELICOPTER COMMAND

Alle helikoptersquadrons van de luchtmacht vallen onder het Defensie Helikopter Commando. Deze squadrons zijn gestationeerd op Vliegbasis Gilze-Rijen, Militair Luchtvaartterrein Deelen, Maritiem Vliegkamp De Kooy en Fort Hood in Texas.

• Het 298 Squadron vliegt met de CH-47F Chinook.
• Het 300 Squadron maakt gebruik van de AS-532U2 Cougar.
• Het 301 Squadron vliegt met de AH-64E Apache.
• Het 860 Squadron opereert met de NH-90 NFH.
• Het 930 Squadron verzorgt logistieke, technische en CIS-ondersteuning (communicatie- en informatiesystemen).
• Het 931 Squadron is verantwoordelijk voor de operationele inzetbaarheid van Vliegbasis Gilze-Rijen en levert onder andere brandweer, luchtverkeersleiding en meteorologische diensten.
• Het 990 Squadron, gevestigd op Maritiem Vliegkamp De Kooy, is een materieel-logistiek squadron dat het onderhoud uitvoert aan de NH90-maritieme gevechtshelikopter.
• Het 7 Opleidings- en Simulatie Squadron (O&S) is verdeeld over Vliegbasis Gilze-Rijen en Maritiem Vliegkamp De Kooy en verzorgt de opleiding van zowel grond- als vliegend personeel.
• Het Helicopter Warfare Center / 299 Squadron fungeert als kenniscentrum voor helikopteroperaties binnen Defensie en stimuleert ontwikkeling en innovatie.
• Het 302 Squadron is gestationeerd op de Amerikaanse legerbasis Fort Hood in Texas en verzorgt meerdere keren per jaar air assault-trainingen voor helikopterbemanningen in samenwerking met de 11 Luchtmobiele Brigade. Daarnaast volgen bemanningen hier periodiek kwalificatietrainingen voor operationele inzet.

De patch is de regulier geborduurde full color versie met de spreuk Merito Unitas, oftewel Verenigde Daadkracht. Dit embleem wordt door zowel grond personeel als vliegers gedragen op de gevechtskleding of het vliegoverall. 10 x 10 cm, met klittenband.

All helicopter squadrons of the Air Force fall under the Defence Helicopter Command. These squadrons are stationed at Gilze-Rijen Air Base, Deelen Military Airfield, De Kooy Naval Air Station, and Fort Hood in Texas.

The 298 Squadron flies the CH-47F Chinook.

The 931 Squadron is responsible for the operational readiness of Gilze-Rijen Air Base and provides services such as firefighting, air traffic control, and meteorology.
The 990 Squadron, based at De Kooy Naval Air Station, is a materiel-logistics squadron responsible for maintenance of the NH90 maritime combat helicopter.
The 7 Training and Simulation Squadron (O&S) is divided between Gilze-Rijen Air Base and De Kooy Naval Air Station and is responsible for training both ground and flight personnel.
The Helicopter Warfare Center / 299 Squadron acts as a knowledge center for helicopter operations within Defence and promotes development and innovation.
The 302 Squadron is stationed at the U.S. Army base Fort Hood in Texas and conducts air assault training for helicopter crews several times a year in cooperation with the 11 Air Mobile Brigade. In addition, crews undergo periodic qualification training here for operational deployment.

The patch is the standard embroidered full-color version featuring the motto Merito Unitas, meaning “United Strength.” This emblem is worn by both ground personnel and aircrew on combat uniforms or flight suits. Size: 10 x 10 cm, with Velcro backing.
